I need to switch between branches of a github repo frequently locally, but every time I do it deletes the files in .gitignore. Is there a way to prevent this specifically for this case?
Post Body
Hi all, I need to frequently locally switch github branches, but the repo I'm using has a gitignore with important files. The gitignore is great, the only problem being it also causes important folders to be ignored when im switching branches, so those folders are deleted when switching and arent restored when I switch back to that branch. Are there any work arounds to this besides manually backing them up each time I switch?
Thanks in advance
