What was one of your first real assignments after landing your first job?

Aspiring developer here, currently going through The Odin Project. I was curious what the other side might look like (at least to start) if / when I do land a job in the field. What are some real-life projects for a junior developer? Hoping to hear some anecdotes that can help maintain motivation as I continue my learning and serve as a test for readiness to start applying.
