Learning while working

I'm going back to college to get my bachelor's degree and learning currently JavaScript. I would like to try to do something everyday or so to get my portfolio ready.
Have any of you tried to learn programming while working a 40 hour a week job and do other things like housework?
Trying to juggle this is hard and finding it difficult currently to find time to sit down and code.
