Finding Collaborators?

Post Body

I’ve learned to program enough to understand how to do a lot of things including database management and front/back end. My problem is I’m still writing code by myself and feel like I’m very limited in that aspect to smaller “novelty” applications. I’d really like to find some partners to collaborate with. I’ve got an idea for a web based application but with it being just me the UI/UX simply isn’t there, I’m sure some of my code is roundabout and sloppy but works, and with me, there isn’t another set of eyes to check things.

Where can I find a couple of friends online to help me out? If I use GitHub community to edit the code, does that make it public domain or can it still be used by a company?
