So I’m going back to school.
It’s been years since I touched math. Somehow I got through the test and scored into the 120s level math. Precal and trig.
Super happy about it, but doubtful I actually deserve that placement.
I forgot how to do the “1 is 3% of what number?” Type questions.
I forgot how to do fractional exponents.
I don’t remember if something to the zero power is 1 or the number itself.
There was some questions I didn’t even comprehend the question so I just “plugged the numbers in” to the equation and chose the one with the prettiest answer.
There was a “how long is the shadow based on height of the sun” question. I forgot the formula and remembered it was “something to do with 1/2” to figure out a side of a triangle.
Figuring out the slope of a line, I forgot which coordinate goes in which part of the fraction. So I just moved the numbers around on the fraction until a correct (backwards) answer appeared.
I totally forgot the polynomials and factoring stuff. There was a (4x 2)(4x-2) type of thing but with square roots that I didn’t know what to do so I made up a simpler problem to try to find the pattern.
When I had no idea I would just plug random numbers into all possible answers to see if they worked.
There’s other stuff that I’m forgetting, but somehow I made it into college level math.
I have a feeling like the first semester is gonna be a struggle as I try to piece together all the fundamentals I’ve forgotten.
Anyways, no point to this post other than a mini celebration lol.
