Hi, I want to check if my quick math is correct for calculating the rounds per minute (RPM) shot by an assault rifle in a game.
Watching a recording, I fired 30 rounds from the gun in exactly 2.570 seconds.
To get a reference for rounds per minute, I divided 60 by 2.570 to get the number 23.3463035194553.
So, in order to get total rounds per minute, I multipled 30 by 23.3463035194553 to get 700.39~.
Does my math check out? I'm sure there's better ways to go about calculating this, but this was all done relatively quickly.
Also, for more context: the RPM for these guns are unknown, which is why I'm trying to do this math to figure it out. However, I seem to be getting different answers depending on how much is fired, so something must be wrong!
