Hello /r/learnmath! I have a simple question about geometry:

I have a 45-45-90 right triangle. If I draw a chord from the right angle to an arbitrary point on the hypotenuse, how do I determine the length of the chord?

I feel like I should be able to figure this out, but I can't. Can you help me out?
