Im from Glasgow where we have super thick accent and speak a different dialect from English, I’ve heard people say it sounds German.
Im going to legion at the end of the year to try for the légion étrangèr, I’ve been to France twice it’s my favourite country, to the Gaelic festival in Brittany/Lorient.
[Questions]
In french the pronunciation is so hard, I’m pretty okay and can communicate, I have about a year to get as good as possible but I’m having trouble with listening. Are some french accents harder than others ? If so what are the hardest and what’re the equivalent to English accents? What accent is la haine ? R there rougher informal ‘shady’ accents? What tips for getting better at listening? Rn I pick out key words and try form context badly
[Questions]
For example london RP English is very posh, rich people standard, Glasgow is super hard, Swedish makes me think of the Swedish chef muppet etc (no offence) American is like basic human accent.
All my devices r in french n I’m watching french movies, and still after months listening is so hard. N I got told I’ve accidentally been learning very posh formal french & will likely be laughed at lol
Apologies if this is a dumb question, merci.
