As someone posted on this sub, a French textbook seems essential. I have been doing Duolingo and Memrise, but they don't really help much with grammar. I really want to learn French thoroughly and I would benefit from a book but I don't know which one to get. I also want a series that gets progressively harder as well. I don't know any French, so the Grammaire Progressive books by Cle intimidate me because they are all in French with no English explanations. Any recs please?
EDIT: In case anyone cares, I chose the "Easy French Step-by-Step Paperback by Myrna Bell Rochester!"
