I’ve started learning Arabic and have been listening to some artists like Saint Levant. In “Between the Lines,” he says:
شايفه جنبك بس و الله فا همك انا باخذك او الله بياخذك، ولا
Some translations and Genius lyrics says شايفه means “I see,” but is this specific to the Palestinian or Egyptian dialect?
I thought أرى was “I see,” but I imagine maybe شايفه is something like “I notice” or “I watch?” Thank you in advance!
Also, if anyone has time or wanted to help out, I’m working through a translation. So far I have: شايفه - I see(?) جنبك - by your side بس - but فا همك - (ك <- he understands (you انا باخذك - I’m taking (you - ك) اه - ?or الله ياخذك - God will take you (death) ولا - ?nor (I swear not)
