emphatics?

Post Body
I've been learning arabic for a while now and I'm still not exactly sure I know how the emphatic consonants work. When sources describe them with the IPA, I typically see them being described as pharyngealized, like [tˤ]. However when the source doesn't use the IPA, they seem to be describing them like [ʈ], or [tʲ]. I've been using [tˤ] but I'm not sure if I'm correct. Anyone know?
