Hello! I am a 19F psychology major in my third year of university. I am incredibly lucky and beyond grateful to have my family pay for my tuition, rent, and living expenses, so I won’t have to worry about student loans. I have no clue what I want to do career-wise (just like most people my age), but I do plan on and am looking forward to becoming a digital nomad and traveling after I graduate for a few years. I also might want to go into sales when I decide on a career path. We’ll see!
So far I recently opened up a SoFi automated investing account and have scheduled to put aside $100 each month. So there’s only about $205 in there so far. I picked out an aggressive strategy, so it’s 100% stocks. I plan on investing more once I find a part-time waitressing job on campus this semester. I’ve also heard about Vanguard and might open up an account with them.
My question is what else do I need to do? Should I invest more because of my safety net? I believe I’m in a really good spot right now, I just wouldn’t want to waste it. I would love to hear a range of insight from different people here :) Thanks!
EDIT: I just started my junior year and I changed my major to IIT :) Thank you all for your comments!
