We need to be more willing to sacrifice old players for better reworks

See a connection? Yyyyyeah. The more drastic a rework is, the better it turns out, every time. Every time a champion gets a minor "rework" if we can even call it that, you're always hearing about how "nothing changed" "what was the point?" and we're seeing that with the new Udyr, too. Like, let's just be honest: the 'old guard' of low playrate, archaic champions are holding the game hostage, and Rito is pandering to them to benefit their bottom line at the cost of League's quality. It makes no sense to just "rework" a champion (barely) and let them just quietly drop back into the game at the exact same nondescript level of strength they were at for the last 10 years, we want to see champions that completely fuck the game for half a season or more before Riot stomps them into being the worst champion in the game for the next year and then takes out half of the mechanics in their kit. That's what we're after. That's what makes a rework good. Change is the essence of life.

That's why I have a lot of hype for the Aurelion Sol and Skarner reworks coming up next, since Riot has already confirmed that they will be complete do-overs. I think, if we're being real for a 'ment (that's how I shorten moments, just a silly thing I do haha), Riot should gauge their rework success on the old community's reaction to it; if Riot looks at them after the kits drop, and they see that these out-of-touch players are totally discontent with the result, they should consider that a job well done, because that probably means that the newer, better playerbase, with an interest in out-skilling the enemy and not out-statting them, will be more willing to replace them, and the game will be better for it.

Thoughts?
