Preface: Before I'd like to begin, I want to point out that League does have a colorblind mode, HOWEVER, it is exclusive to Deuteranope, commonly known as "green-weak". This has close to 0 effect on Tritanope and Protanope colorblindness.
In a game where a solid 80-90% of enemy-related indicators are red, one would imagine that there would be options for a red-weak or Protanope colorblind mode considering the substantial impacts it has on the game. Not being able to see enemy indicators as clearly, whether its a Redemption active or a painfully hard to see Headhunter Nidalee Spear, sharply impacts the performance of anyone who plays League.
I've submitted numerous support tickets, made Reddit posts, even asked a Rioter in game whether a Protanope Colorblind Mode would even be considered. Each has been met with silence for the most part.
This isn't a new issue; it's been a problem since the game's inception, and for such a large and popular game to have such a lack of accessibility options that impact even pro players is astonishing and outright insulting. Other multiplayer games from Fortnite to Overwatch have multiple, if not customizable options for Colorblindness, and Riot's "One-size-fits-all" setting doesn't stack up. Even older games like Oldschool Runescape have multiple colorblindness support options.
The worst part are the thematic skins that use low-contrast Red hues and particles. Snow Day Ziggs comes to mind on ARAM, alongside a handful of others like the aforementioned Nidalee skin. If I can't have a Protanope colorblind mode, at least give me the option to disable Skin particles for specific players.
You could argue that each enemy skill worth noting is accompanied by a SFX, but any reasonable League Player can tell you that in the heat of a teamfight or skirmish, SFX alone isn't going to cut it. I love this game to bits, and have played since 2012, but a lack of response to what should be a basic accessibility feature has really ruined the fun for me.
I just want to play the game on somewhat of an equal footing.
