I wanna preface this by saying I'm not a MOBA newbie. I played League of Legends from levels 1-5 in early season 3 before finding Smite and sinking 2.5K games into it, but even Smite can get boring from time to time and I find myself trying to come back to League of Legends but it's so painful.

The sheer amount of smurfs in these low level games is just insane! From levels 1-around 8 things were pretty nice. I was learning some champs (pretty much nothing but Sion and Gangplank) things were really easy but I expected that being a veteran of the Genre. Then it hit me. Post 8 50% of my games have been filled with smurfs ranging from Solos to full parties of smurfs! There have been a couple kind ones but most are just mean. People buying first item Sword of the Occult on Draven then spamming laugh as they get their 3rd Quadra. People going full AP Amumu and one shotting everything etc.

I really want to like this game. The champion design is phenomenal and it just seems to get better every release (Ekko looks cool as fuck!) But playing this game just feels like more of a chore then actual fun. I want to learn to play the game but it's next to impossible in low levels ATM. :(

Edit: OK so I went to sleep and kind of woke up with 300 new messages to check. Fun!

The most common suggestion I'm getting from people is to just play with bots to learn the champions. While that would probably work for someone that is only interested in getting to level 30 that is not me. I really do like this game but as of now Smite is definitely still my main game and I really only play this game when my Smite friends are offline and I don't feel like Solo Q'ing. It took me 2-3 months (after I started playing more then just a game a week) to level from 5-19. I only play this game to have fun and don't really care about being super competitive, but playing against Smurfs that just get really fed then instakill everything isn't fun.

I guess I never really mentioned that I do have a pretty decent knowledge of the game. My younger brother has played since I quit in early season 3. We are best friends and will often just hang out while he plays LoL. He has told/shown me a lot about League and I know what 95% of the champions do and how to counter a lot of them (at least in top lane as that is all he plays) my main problem is my mechanics are really bad. I'm super inaccurate when I click and often miss a lot of cs for it. Simple Things like kiting jungle camps are some next level Korean strats due to how sloppy my clicking is. As well as things like positing in teamfights as I don't really know the lengths of each dash or gap closer in this game like I do in Smite and tend to play to close.
