Is comparing your stats against those of players in the ranks above you, effective at all?

I’m thinking about how players can use stats to understand how to improve at League.
Let’s say you saw that your kills and magic dmg dealt were on par, but your deaths and dragon takedowns were below par, with players 2-4 ranks above you (possibly on the same champ lane)
Is this valuable information to have, to fuel your decisions in the next game that you play?
