Hey this is my first post here after lurking through this page for months. So I only applied to two schools this year (NYU & Berkeley). I initially intended to apply to around 7-8 schools, but for reasons too long to explain here it ended up just being those two. I didn’t expect to get into either and still haven’t heard back from Berkeley, but somehow I made it into NYU lol. Anyway, I got my financial aid package this week and it wasn’t sexy at all :( I got offered around $30k total for all 3 years, leaving me with ~$325k that I’d have to cover for the 3 years (total COA amounts here). I’m pretty debt averse, and feel like this would be an incredible burden, even taking into account their LRAP. I’m probably gonna decline and apply more broadly next year. Anyone see any reason to pay this much for any school tbh? Also, does anyone know if this is an atypically low financial aid package from NYU?
