Hi folks! I'm B, I'm a 24 yo non-binary lad and I just joined the moderation team for this sub. I care a lot about making this place safe and comfortable for everyone. I know yall are horny and thats cool, but I'd like to at least open a dialogue about what we really want this sub to be.
At this point it really feels like a free for all, and I'm not sure that is really attracting the kind of content we all want to see.
The way I see things, an r4r subreddit really should be about meeting folks and getting to know them, building trust before meeting up and seeing what happens.
To that end, I'd like to propose that we at least try to set some standards regarding the amount of effort put into posts. At the very least I would really like to see folks properly introducing themselves rather than just posting nude photos as an attempt to animalisticaly "attract" a "mate"
thats a gross way to put it, but frankly I think its an apt description of this sub's content.
Lawrence is a relatively small city, but I think we can build a thriving, sex-positive community. A key feature of that is an emphasis on community safety, transparency as far as interpersonal intentions go, and most of all a place where people can really be themselves and get to know each other.
Over the next few days I'll be reaching out to other members of the team to address how things should change, what things should stay the same, and most of all our "vision" as corny as that sounds.
Anyway its nice to meet yall. if you read all this then I am grateful lol.
