Have you experience asking the universe for something and getting it in a twisted way?

How careful do you have to asking the universe what you want, was maybe the better question?

An example. Many years ago I had a relationship that went from good to terrible to life treating horror. Since then i do not want anymore serious dating with any woman. Just FWB with new women. That is what I asked the universe.

But ever since I seem to not be able to date at all while women seem to be into me. Some weird stuff will always happen so that the dates just won't happen. Like going to the hospital, accidents, family tragedies, bad weather, etc. So by now I haven't dated in years.

My male and female friends do not understand what is happening. They always thought I was the guy with a girlfriend in every town.

By now they have seen situations of me that can't fail still fail. There is too much going on for it to be a coincidence or just bad luck. So it's almost like I got what I kind of asked for.

This is just an example. There is much other stuff going on in other areas of my life.

I was wondering if you have similar life experiences. Maybe in other fields like works, hobbies or anything. Is there a catch in asking the universe what you want? How to make sure the universe understands what you want.
