I moved into a new home at the beginning of March (zone 7b). Being new construction, we were graced with the “builders special” of Bermuda sod in the front and fescue seeded in the back. They had just seeded and strawed the back yard when we closed on the home, so we weren’t able to tell how well it had been seeded. In short, the job was not well done. There are a few small patches of decent growth, but for the most part, the entire back yard is clay with a few individual stalks on grass shooting up.
Is there anything I can do at this point in the season to help promote grass growth, or should I just wait until the fall to blow it all up and start over?
