Crabgrass takeover?

Post Body

Overall the yard has looked good for a number of years but I’ve also had a local landscaping company fertilizing it and treating it each year. This year I decided to do it myself with Jonathan Green’s general treatment plan but now I’ve got these patches of crabgrass thriving a lot more than in years past. I got a late start while also struggling to get the weed n feed pellets to grab onto the leaflets so maybe that’s the issue.

So now this is all growing I could try to tackle it by hand and doing removal but that will be a grueling process. Any thoughts/options? Most of the yard is fine.
