Hello everyone -
A newsletter
I got access to linkedin's newsletter function. I think I'm an early recipient of that tool. I figure I'll start using it for roundups of some serious items and some of the quirkier stuff from /r/law and /r/lawschool. You can subscribe to Legal-ish here. The first piece is kind of heavy and entirely about COVID and the legal economy. The legal economy is constricting, probably worse than what happened in 2008, and will likely change permanently. Don't let your careers become ash.
More about COVID and the legal economy
Keith Lee's series on the Covid constriction. He's a moderator here, long time writer about the legal industry and legal ethics, and the CMO for CaseStatus
Clio is a law practice management company. They also aggregate and interpret a lot of data about what the legal industry looks like every year in the annual Legal Trends Report. They host a conference every year where they present a lot of interesting data. I pulled from their most recent Covid impact research brief for my newsletter. I'll see if I can't get them to do an AMA about the impact of Covid on the legal industry. I believe a few of their data nerds are avid Redditors. Any interest in an AMA from the data scientists at Clio?
