He always had Woodward. Woodward is not admitted in SDFL (or State of FL for that matter).

Sasha Dadan is the new attorney; she is local counsel and she filed a permanent notice of appearance.

Campaign slogans and positions are different from legal positions.

Everyone is entitled to defense counsel and whether they advocate in their campaigns for "truth, justice, and the American way" does not make them any less effective in defending clients, nor does it somehow cheapen them as defense attorneys.

The oath of admission for the Florida Bar (PDF) states in part,

I will support the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Florida;

By your standards, no attorney could take either Trump or Nauta on as a client.
