Hey!
So I ihave these clothes taht I use for working out, and it tends to usually be cotton shirts, and shorts. I know now that using cotton as a workout shirt was a horrible idea, but at this point, many of my shirts have this horrendous scent to the armpits that don't seem to come out through normal washing, and I was wondering if there was some way that I could get rid of the smell?
I have heard online that you can use a vinegar and water mix to soak them in for a couple of hours to get rid of the odor, and then putting them through a normal wash afterwards, but if this is the case, I was hoping I could get some clarification from the community here a little about how this works?
I want to do this with many items at a time, because there are loads of shirts and other items which are like this at the moment unfortunately. Would the process to get rid of that odor be the same if it was in bulk loads? I was thinking about getting a large plastic tub that I could fill with clothing, and then fill with a water and vinegar mix for a while before each load of laundry, but I wanted to make sure that this would actually work before giving it a shot?
How do you typically do this? With one clothing item at a time? Also, the only vinegar we seem to have here at home is White Vinegar. Is that fine to use for this process as well, or is it perhaps a little too strong?
Thanks guys! I am really new to doing my own laundry unfortunately, and I mostly blame that on the fact that I am blind, and can't really do too many things myself, so this is one area that I have not had lots of experience in, so any advice would be greatly appreciated <3
