So my partner/“friend”/whathaveyou (we’re not using labels) is in her late 40s and I’m in my early 20s. I get it, there’s a big age gap, whatever, but that’s not what my question is about.

We’re both really new to the joys of sapphic sex (less than two months), and it might be the initial euphoria or NRE, but she seems incredibly sexually supercharged. She sends me suggestive/dirty messages and pictures, and when we see each other (about once or twice a week), she is…well, the best way to describe it is voracious and with an eager curiosity to try some very new things 😳 😂

Mind you, I’m not complaining at all. I’m enjoying the fuck out of it 😊

But I am, however, sort of curious about one thing. Prior to my knowing this side of her, I always sort of assumed that women’s sex drives tapered off considerably once they reach their 40s, and she even told me that, for the last three years of her (now ended) marriage, she had pretty much lost interest in sex entirely. She says I awoke a monster inside of her (lol).

Forgive my ignorance here, but is that a common thing for middle aged women to experience, or am I lucky enough that she’s an outlier?

The one person I asked seems to think it’s an outlier, so I’m curious what the hive mind says?
