Okay I’m getting up the courage to tell my partner but I’m stumped as to what to tell my family. I’ve always thought I was just bi and my family knows (ish, it hasn’t really impacted anything so they mostly ignore it). I’m from the south and grew up going to church but have since stopped going. My family adores my partner and we’ve been together for almost 5 years now. I know I shouldn’t give a single fuck about what they think but I need advice. How do I tell them I’ve “decided” to be a lesbian (I don’t believe this but I feel like they might). I’m just struggling with my identity a bit. I’ve tried to ‘make it work’ for the past few years because he’s an amazing person who my family loves and honestly is my best friend but I’ve known for a while that I’m not TRULY happy. I guess I mostly just needed to vent 😞
