Best Small Town in the States for a Queer to Relocate to?

Post Body

I’m thirty-six, female, and from the PNW. I’ve lived abroad the last ten years as a teacher and in that time I’ve come out to myself, lost touch with most of my family, and adopted two stray dogs. I’m preparing to move back to the States in the next few years and am open to possibilities outside of where I grew up. I’m currently getting licensed to teach high school.

Although I’ve lived in cities, I’m definitely a small town person and one thing I’ve REALLY missed living abroad has been community. When I move back to the States, I kinda wanna be someplace where my neighbors know me and are friendly and I’m not sure that’s PNW vibes. I’m actually mulling over the south, but I wanted to ask the community here if they would recommend where they live or give some synopsis of good/bad places they’ve lived over the years. Thanks 🐾🌲
