So, I'm an emissary from r/grinders, and am trying to come up with a new implant nobody has made yet. Where my brain immediately went was 'a transdermally implanted laser strong enough to cut thread'.
After doing the literal bare minimum google pointed me at this laser. Doing a little more research said that the minimum power needed to be a burning laser is still greater than the strength needed to just absolutely ruin your eye.
Is there a way to have a laser strong enough to be practically useful in day to day life without being so strong that it's an eyesight hazard just implanted in my forearm?
If so, and you want to recommend any particular product please keep in mind that while implanting in the body having a minimum footprint is super important.
I appreciate the input. Back to the drawing board.
That's why I said transdermally. The majority of the device would be subdermal, with the aperture itself exposed. Is the heat built in the diode, or the power souce? The intention was to use a Qi Power receiver to power it with a battery pack external to the body.
I'm pretty convinced to abandon it just based on "If you want it to cut it's going to fuck eyes up"

Yea I've canned the plan. It wouldn't be safe in the configuration I would want it in, and I'm not in the habit of implanting things that don't fully meet my expectations
