A dumb question for y’all, but I’ve got a Rodenstock Sironar N MC 150mm lens from Keh and I brought it with me from Boston to Alabama to photograph my hometown on, but I’ve run into an issue where A. I have to bring my front element (on my tachihara 4x5) far closer to the rear element than 150mm to get anything in focus much less infinity and B. When I get focus it’s like, the center gets in focus but everything outside of that is a swirly blur regardless of what I do. I’m wondering if it may be mis-aligned? For context:
The copal 0 board I got is not big enough for the lip of the retaining ring to go inside, so I attached it with the retaining ring facing the rear element
I did travel with it on a plane, though I had it in my carry on which stayed in my lap or on my back the whole time
I’m not sure if I’m just an idiot or the lens is messed up, and if so what to do about it. Any help is appreciated
