LAPTOP QUESTIONNAIRE

  • Total budget (in local currency) and country of purchase. Please do not use USD unless purchasing in the US:
    1200 or less USD
  • Are you open to refurbs/used?
    Absolutely not
  • How would you prioritize form factor (ultrabook, 2-in-1, etc.), build quality, performance, and battery life?
Idk what build quality means, I want something that could play MC ftb stream music and have a tab or 2 open all at once while live streaming. It will be plugged in 99% of the time, 4 hours battery will be the max I foresee ever needing unless I have a power outage.
  • How important is weight and thinness to you?
Function matters, all else is secondary, I see this as a non issue
  • Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A.
Bigger always better but I think my current is either 15 or 17 so lets assume 17 works best
  • Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run.
As stated above, mc ftb is the most intense thing I would ever run but I am hoping to actually set up pokemon streaming from my switch eventually, please forgive my ignorance on this subject as I have almost 0 knowledge/understanding of the computer/laptop world
  • If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want?
Other than above Stellaris, ARK survival evolved, FF series games, cities skylines, KSP and Bloons td battles. 30-60 fps is plenty idk what settings means exactly but I assume it means like 1020p which is probably a solid point
  • Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)?
I wouldn't mind some form as long as function is the focus, backlit keyboard is a must though so I can use easily at night with no light (even with the screen off as I use my laptops for asmr for sleep)
  • Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion.
MC ftb is just an example because I would like the option. However, at the end of the day, please prioritize streaming and tabs open, mc ftb would be the ideal but frankly pokemon streaming from my switch is the true minimum standard here (with a little extra for safety) and the cheaper the better of course. A brick with a screen and a backlit keyboard is acceptable as long as the internals are on point. Please feel free to as questions of me as well for clarity, just understand that my computer level is "child"... phrase everything as if I am a 6 year old, I wont feel patronized at all. I will feel like I am answering things clearer if questions are on my level of understanding. Thank you and sorry for the text wall.
