Is amazon trustable for buying laptops?

I'm trying to buy a good laptop to do photoshop and game a little. But I can't really find anything good in store that's in my budget (1000$CAN without taxes), and the only ones that I found interesting were not even in sale at the store. I had to order it. The problem is that this store is HORRIBLE for delivery so I'm not going to order it from there that's for sure. So I think I'm gonna try amazon. But is it safe? Never bought any electronics there, so I'm a bit anxious about it. What are your experiences with amazon in this case? And when I'm here, what laptop would you suggest me?
