I'm pulling my hair out with this issue. I recently got an Asus ROG Strix 2, model number GL704GV. As this laptop only has a 512GB SSD, i opted to add a Firecuda 2 TB SSHD for my games library. The SATA cable included with the laptop seems to be backwards. The HDD cage in the laptop only fits 1 way. The SSHD only fits 1 way in to that cage. This routes the flattened SATA cable over the top of the SSHD, then a hard angle down to the motherboard, then another hard angle to the SSHD connector. According to every video i've seen with this model, the cable is supposed to route UNDER the SSHD when installed, with no hard angles at all. The ONLY way the cable, cage, and sshd fit together is how I described it, I've tried every other configuration and it doesn't work. If I put the sshd in the way it shows in the videos, the cable faces the other direction. Also, the cage that came in the laptop installs so the cage is between the sshd and the motherboard, but the videos show the cage is supposed to be above the sshd. Does anyone know if I have the wrong cage/cable/etc ?
