In Nov 2019, I bought a refurbished Dell Precision M4800 from Amazon for $419.
Specs are as follows:
- 15. 6" Ultrasharp FHD (1920x1080)
- Intel Core i7 Quad-Core (i7-4900MQ)
- 16GB DDR3 SDRAM
- 500GB HDD *upgraded to 1TB SSD*
- Nvidia Quadro K2100M
When I first received the laptop, I was blown away at it's speed and in many ways, it's still enough for me. Storage capacity is sufficient for my needs. Screen resolution could be better though.
The main thing that I've loved about this laptop is that it's an absolute UNIT. I've dropped it, it's been stepped on multiple times by my family and I've only replaced the screen twice. Whatever I get to replace this needs to be on par with this ruggedness. Or am I asking too much for a $400-$500 price tag these days? I don't mind buying refurbished, but even the newer Precisions don't look as durable.
Haalp lol.
