Starting with the shooting that I believe is outside a shoe store. This lady's boss is murdered and when she tells me she, "didn't really see what happened", I selected "doubt" because it seemed like she was lying, but I couldn't confront her on it. Instead cole started yelling at her, telling her it's against the law to lie to a cop and it straight up telling her she's lying. I would have expected that if I selected "lie" but seems awfully aggressive for the "doubt" option.
The second interrogation confused me far more. The jewelry store owner who may or may not have shot the guy.. Cole asks if he denies shooting the guy and he doesn't necessarily lie. So I select "doubt" and Cole starts yelling at him and asserting that he is the murderer. That instantly fails me and I have to restart so I select "lie" and Cole simply, calmly, asks him another question... ok...
The cherry on top was only a few questions in, cole suggests that the dead guy had owed the jewelry store owner some money, insinuating that was the motive. I'm then allowed to select evidence and I had found a layaway receipt for the jewelry store. This seems to back up cole's assumption but it instant fails me.
This game gets a lot of love so I have to assume that this isn't just a guessing game like it seems to be, correct? What's going on here? It seems like the meaning of "lie" and "doubt" were switched for me or something. Maybe I'm just expecting a little more of a forgiving experience rather than such a punishing one
