Hello, I have a few questions regarding learning a language. I am from the United States and have been taught English my whole life. As of this moment, I am learning Spanish and French on Duolingo so I can use it as a tool later in life.
I was scrolling through the options on Duolingo and saw that Swahili was an option that I could learn. Would there be any advantage that I could gain from picking up Swahili (future business endeavors, economic, future job growth, travel, etc.) that I could gain?
One of the top things to do on my bucket list is to travel to Tanzania to see the Serengeti. Other places I would want to see in the area would be Kenya, Rwanda, and Uganda which I believe also have Swahili as one of their main languages.
In particular, would it be worth dropping French or giving up the opportunity to learn an Asian language to learn it?
