What's the best way to handle a speaking test if you forget a vocabulary?

Post Body

I'm soon going to take a German A2 Goethe test. I tend to forget vocab in the middle of speaking. If this happens during the exam's speaking section, what's the best course of action to avoid losing too many points?

I really feel I'm not ready for this. I'm nervous. I just want to score passing marks. What would be the right course of action in this situation:

  1. Freeze as long as possible to try to think of the word (and maybe lose all the alloted time for the section)

  2. Plug the Englisch equivalent inside the German sentence while trying to make it sound 'German'

  3. Apologize to the examiner and ask her how to say ___ in German (Wie sagt Mann (english word) auf Deutsch?)

  4. Put chin to chest in shame and leave the examination hall asap
