How effective is watching YouTube videos when you barely understand what's being said?

Post Body

I have read a lot about using YouTube as a resource to work on your listening skills in your target language. I am learning Spanish and natives seem to speak at 100mph so I usually only pick up a handful of words. I find this process frustrating. Has anyone found any benefits to watching YouTube videos like this to improve their listening skills when they're just starting out? Is it worth revisiting YouTube in my target language once I have built up more of a vocabulary? Or is it worth sticking out?
