Is it true that Sanskrit is a difficult language to learn for someone with a hindi speaking background?
Post Body
I'm going to be applying for grad school and will be needing to learn either Classical Chinese or Sanskrit as a language. I have Indian parents and although i cannot write or read Hindi, i can speak and understand it. One of my professors who studied Sanskrit mentioned it's a difficult language to learn for people who know Hindi. Is this true? I'm not 100% sure if this would apply to me since i cannot read or write Hindi, i can just speak and understand it.
