I have been gifted an amazing opportunity to go remote with my work, which is highly flexible. It's one of those "just make sure the work is done and we don't care" type situations. The company operates on EST, and there's not much supervision with when or how long I'm online bar the odd meeting which is easy to work around.
This has given me the opportunity to up sticks and move to my target country and get working on learning a language properly. Outside of work and practical obligations like health and wellbeing, I want to dedicate all my time to learning. For example, I was thinking there may be an institute that has schooling in the mornings and I could work in the late afternoon to evening/early night. I would also join clubs, private tutoring, make friends with locals if possible, listen to local news and radio TV, etc.
I studied French and German at different points of my education and would have roughly A2-B1 in both. I am open to either and would pursue Paris or Berlin as a result. Hoping to make this move in September.
Wondering if anyone has done anything similar before and what you would warn against or recommend. Thanks!
