"cunt" is today perceived as one of the most offensive words in the english language, but the history of the word runs deep and has only relatively recently been seen as derogatory.

people as far back as the Sumerians used "kunta" to refer to female genitalia.

the word "kunt" has been found in the writings of the ancient Egyptian vizier Ptah-Hotep, and was used as a term of respect towards women. 

Kunti is a Hindu goddess and the Yoni of the universe. she is the ruler of Kundalini, a form of divine feminine energy. 

Garrwa, an Aboriginal Australian language uses "kunda" to mean "tree". 

the Dutch use "kont" to mean "bottom" but they also use the terms "liefdesgrot", meaning "cave of love", and "vleesroos", meaning "rose of flesh" which i find beautiful. 

many African languages use "kunta" to refer to women, it can also be spelt "quna" and is related to the word "queen". the word "quim" also relates to "queen", and can be used to describe something intimate and comforting. it is also used in Ulster to refer to something nice and neat.

"pussy" used to be a term for an endearing woman, and is still a term for a feminine or cowardly man. words similar to "pussy" are used across Europe and to an extent the wider world to refer to felines and to literally catcall, that is, to attract actual cats, not to sexually harass people. words such as the Dutch "poes", Irish "puisín", Lithuanian "puizé", are used to call over cats, and Hijazi Arabic has the word "Bassa" which means female cat, and also probably derived from an onomatopoeia for calling a cat. in Medieval French, "pucella" means a maiden but it probably isn't related, and more akin to Modern French "putain" and Spanish "Puta" both meaning prostitute.

in Britain, some people use the rather crude sounding "muff", which actually refers to something warm and comforting, such as in "ear muffs".

the word "vulva", from the Latin word for “womb” can be compared to Ancient Greek "eilúö", meaning "to enfold", and the Latin "volvo" meaning “to wrap around", which is the same source for the Modern English "revolve". 

the Sanskrit word for vagina, "yoni" can mean "source of life" and is often depicted as a "padma", a lotus flower. many cultures around the world use flowers to symbolise vaginas, or human sexuality in general. eastern texts recognised at least 16 types of menstrual fluid, and in Sanskrit these are all referred to with the suffix "puspa", meaning "flower". 

in English, "Deflowering" can be taking someones virginity, and reaching puberty can be referred to as "blossoming". 

and finally, the Jamaican word "punani" possibly derives from Hawaiian "punani" meaning "heavenly flower".
