Best way to store bulk woodchip for later use?
Post Body
We're cutting down a big bunch of problematic tall trees (will replant similar amount in a better area later) to build houses, and thinking of having arborist shred 50 to 100 cubic meters woodchip (150 to 300 cubic feet) for 3x septic field coverings and landscaping use at later date, might be up to a year. Anyone have experience on what to do to keep it from rotting away? Maybe put a portable canvas carport over it? Thinking if covered directly it'll start to compost itself in summer heat, but shouldn't really be left exposed to elements or will rot.
