So got this guy to put in some new flower beds. It's brand new garden in a new build. We already put in a load of soil and did the lawn so beds were already there ready for planting. What he did was 1) Rototill and de-weed 2) came back 3 weeks later and said we need better soil. So deweeded and rototilled in new soil. 3) Put in new plants but by this time it was summer so said he would put other plants in fall. 4) de weeded again because he never put mulch. Said the plants needed to grow. 5) planted shrubs 6) planted bulbs 7) now he's saying we need special fine mulch that comes from miles away and is 3x more expensive.
Is this all ridiculous or is it just me. I feel he could have just planned it properly in spring. Tilled, add soil, plant, mulch. Done. Its now 3x original estimate but he says the de-weeding is maintenance and not part of the original quote.
