At Augustine - Grass doesn’t reach concrete

Hi, currently here in Deep South Texas at my MIL’s. I believe my bro in law has been edging the lawn too far back for years that the grass everywhere is so far away from the concrete. Any tips on fixing it? No Lowe’s or Home Depot near me sell st Augustine plugs, and the only places that have sod sell it by the pallet. I just want the grass to hit the sidewalk. I brought a proper edger since they were using the weed wacker previously. Any advice? Thanks
