How do I fix this? Trench drain?

Post Body
The channel / crevice between our homes does not drain out.
Is there a more budget friendly or DIY option other than hiring someone to install French drains?
I was considering a 50ft trench drain at a mild gradient to move water to the front of the house where it'll naturally drain off to the road due to the slope.
FYI a contractor just added a bunch of dirt yesterday hence the difference between the pics.
