Rock / Mulch or something else?
Post Body

Two years ago, I threw down mulch mixed with some river rock and this summer I had a bout of depression and the crabgrass absolutely took over so I pulled everything up from the landscape paper up and do not really want to deal with the mulch again.

I read yesterday. There’s some animosity with rock as well as crabgrass still grows up in it, but what does everyone think? Should I do mulch or stone?

Self a favor and get rid of that fabric. You’ll regret it for years to come. The fabric does not prevent weeds. Weeds will grow right on top of it. Use a pre-emergent like and unfortunately spray round up or hand pull whatever weeds do come about again get rid of that fabric.

Correction I got ahead of myself. You are right. If you do rocks 100% need fabric.

Yes I’d advise against it. Mulch looks better and lite top dressing once or twice a year.
