Shaded area needs Love

Hello All - I have a shaded area in my backyard that is mainly shaded due to the height of the fence, this area was mostly moss and I scrapped it off and now it looks totally bare and I am looking for suggestions on what I should to make this area beautiful.. Also, where the slope ends, do I need to add some kind of edging to separate the grass and moss area? I am thinking of adding some hydrangeas - will those be good for this area or anything else that you guys prefer?
