These popping up all over our yard

We moved into a house in Illinois during the winter and right now the grass is covered in these. Does anyone know what it is and how to get rid of them? The yard has some big trees so grass is sparse in spots. They just started a couple days ago and they are everywhere. Any help is appreciated!
