Dirt work

Post Body

I recently bought a house that has zero grass and a big slope. I had to have a retaining wall put in. The 4 feet bit it slopes down and the contractor made the yard do the same. All the water runs to the other end of the yard and right now into my neighbors yard. In a few weeks I’m going to rent a skid steer to help level the yard. I need to know if I need to put a swele in or do I level the yard to slope towards the wall? I know if I do that the wall will have about 6” or more exposed on the east side, which I’m ok with since I’ll be putting bushes and a shed up. Or do I keep the dirt raised to the retaining wall height and let the water pool on through side of the property? I put sandbags to help catch the water and dirt until I do the dirt work and install the concrete footer for my fence.
