Ideas for this space?

Ideally, I’d like to create a little localized haven for native plants/pollinators. Something with a little path to stroll through and perhaps a bench to sit under the trees as it can make you feel like you’re in the forest.
However the big conifers drop a lot of needles and the large ash creates enough shade it makes it hard for full sun plants to grow. Exposure is NW. Front range of Colorado at 5800’ MSL.
Any ideas?
