How would you suggest I remove the dead weeds? Advice and tool suggestions are appreciated!!

Backyard was over grown from a high volume of rain a few months back. Now all that is left is the dried out, dead aftermath. My roommates want to hire a landscaper to take care of it but I feel I can handle it myself. It will be a little cheaper if I can do it but I don’t have much experience with this type of work. I was thinking of renting a weed wacker and just going to town. Any advice or suggestions is much appreciated!!
